Certificate Issue

Hi,

As of this morning, we noticed that we are receiving the following error when trying to load a map over https on our web page:

ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

Is anbody else experiencing this issue?  The map currently isn't loading any map tiles correctly, and it appears that this same issue is happening on the developer site itself:

https://developer.mapquest.com/documentation/mapquest-js/v1.3/

Thanks in advance for any help!

We're experiencing the same

We're experiencing the same issue as of recently. Error ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID is seen in Chrome console on the following domain:

https://mapconfig.mqcdn.com/mapconfig?version=4&config=1

Unfortunately same for us

Seems the problem is related to the SSL Certificate of mqcdn.com, and for us this is a business blocking issue if we already decided to adopt mapquest service for our entrprise system.

"Failed to load resource: The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “mapconfig.mqcdn.com” which could put your confidential information at risk."

Hi Brian,

Hi Brian,

Was yesterday's outage caused by the same cert  issue that occurred in Sept 2018 and Feb 2019? If yes, is there a plan to review Mapquest's internal cert renewal process or have plans been put in place to prevent this issue from reoccurring?

Thanks in advance for any further clarity you can provide.

The team is constantly
The team is constantly improving the products and performance. A recent update to infrastructure behind the mqcdn URL caused the most recent cert failure. The issue has been resolved and the team is working to avoid similar issues in the future. Thanks for your patience.
