Hello all, I am new to the forum.
I am looking for some very basic Y\N answers to a question. Please forgive my lack of knowledge on this subject, I know a little about map dev but really need a fundamental steer.
For background - I am trying to help out a friend who manages very large new build property developments. He's looking for the ability to create a navigable map for some of his large scale building plots so certain workers\buyers can locate specific areas of the site, such as material stores, fuel stores, building plots Etc.
He would like a map for each site where he can map out the proposed buildings and where the roads in\out will be, paths Etc.
So my question is this. . . is it possible to create new roads\paths in a map layer which would work (via an app or web or whatever) where a user could see their location on the map and navigate to something on the map. What I am thinking is a dropdown with plot numbers, fuel stores, material stores (i.e "find my nearest. . ") which a user can select and then be shown how to navigate their way to it. I need to understand whether its possible to have a layer built over the top of an existing map which would allow a user to snap their location to the new layer and do some navigation.
Sorry if that sounds incredibly noddy, but I can't seem to find an answer to whether that's do able and how one may go about it.
I would be very grateful for any information anyone could provide.
